Sturgeon County’s business community demonstrates resilience, confidence, and growth potential, according to the results of the 2026 Triage BR&E Survey.
The survey helps track changes in the local business environment, measure progress on key priorities, identify emerging opportunities and challenges, and support targeted business outreach. Input was gathered from 100 businesses, providing a statistically representative snapshot of the local business community.
Nearly 9 out of 10 businesses surveyed report satisfaction with the County as a place to do business. The survey also revealed notable improvements in business confidence and overall business health since the inaugural survey in 2023.
“The strength of Sturgeon County is closely tied to the success of our local businesses,” said Mark Morrissey, Director of Economic Innovation and Growth. “These results demonstrate that businesses are confident about their future here while also providing valuable insight into where we can focus our efforts to further support investment, growth, and economic diversification.”
One of the most significant findings was an increase in the Net Promoter Score, a measure of business advocacy and confidence. It rose from +15 in 2023 to +31 in 2026. The Business Community Health Index also increased from 751 to 755, aligning with the Alberta average.
The survey indicates strong business confidence across the region. Forty-one per cent of businesses expect revenue growth over the next 12 months, while 26 per cent anticipate increasing staffing levels.
Businesses also highlighted areas for improvement, including access to public transportation for employees, availability of business funding programs, and adequate housing options.
The findings from the survey will help inform future business retention, expansion, workforce development, and economic diversification initiatives. For complete survey results, visit investsturgeon.ca/Triage-BRE-Report-2026.
